What Is an ICT Kill Zone?

The term ICT Kill Zone was popularized by Michael Huddleston, known online as "The Inner Circle Trader" (ICT). Kill Zones are specific time windows during the trading day when institutional participants — large banks, hedge funds, and central bank trading desks — are most active in the Forex market. These windows are not random; they align precisely with the opening and closing hours of major financial centers around the world.

London Kill Zone Explained

The London Kill Zone runs from 02:00 to 05:00 New York time (approximately 07:00 to 10:00 GMT). London is the world's largest Forex trading center, responsible for over 38% of global daily Forex volume. When the London session opens, institutional order flow dramatically increases, creating some of the most explosive and predictable price moves of the entire trading day.

New York Kill Zone Explained

The New York Kill Zone spans 07:00 to 10:00 New York time and coincides with the overlap between the London and New York sessions. This is the highest-volume period of the entire Forex trading day, as two of the world's largest financial centers are simultaneously active. The combination of European and American institutional flow creates exceptional liquidity and volatility.

ICT Silver Bullet Strategy

The ICT Silver Bullet is one of Michael Huddleston's most refined and powerful intraday strategies. It is not a session in the traditional sense but rather two ultra-precise one-hour windows within the trading day when a specific setup type has an extraordinarily high probability of occurring. The two Silver Bullet windows are the AM Silver Bullet (10:00–11:00 AM New York time) and the PM Silver Bullet (14:00–15:00 New York time).
