Gold (XAU/USD) Forecast: CPI Data to Trigger Liquidations or New Records

Consolidation in Gold Markets

Gold (XAU/USD) has formed a tight range between $2,310 and $2,340 as market volume declines before the CPI release. This range has accumulated major liquidity pools on both sides.

Market Scenarios

An inline CPI reading will likely drive Gold through the buy-side stops targeting $2,380. A hotter inflation print, however, could lead to rapid liquidations targeting the sell-side pool at $2,280.
